My Client is in an exciting period of expansion and rebranding. The future is definitely good, and to enhance this they are now looking to recruit a Building Surveyor to work in a team, providing a broad range of building surveying, civil engineering and construction expertise to maintain and improve existing buildings, infrastructure and other structures or facilities.
The Role: Building Surveyor
To undertake building inspections, produce designs to solve issues, procure the works and administer building contracts.
Producing detailed contract documentation
Planning, execution, and monitoring of minor works up to large building projects and planned maintenance programmes.
To assess Contractors, Consultants and Suppliers against safety and quality competency criteria and make recommendations for appointment.
To liaise with architects, consultants and quantity surveyors appointed to take control of a project on the Board's behalf.
Managing suppliers including preparation and evaluation of competitive tenders.
The post will require a high degree of flexible and adaptable team working including some out of hours and call out attendance.
Problem solving; condition surveys, inspections, detecting and analysing underlying problems and taking long term corrective actions and fault finding.
Skills / Qualifications / Experience: Building Surveyor
Recognised degree in an appropriate building surveying, building engineering or similar discipline.
Full membership of a relevant professional institution, eg. CIOB, RICS or similar.
IOSHH or NEBOSH
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
Contract specifications, documentation & administration
Mechanical and electrical working knowledge
Working knowledge of CDM Regulations
Current PLG (car) licence and daily use of own vehicle
Able to work additional or flexible hours when required
Able to work at heights (on and over water)
