Having secured work on a number of prestigious projects, this established and expanding surveying company based in the Bedfordshire is looking for a Business Development Manager for the Rail Team to develop opportunities across the Rail and Infrastructure Industries.

The role requires a strong and influential Business Development Manager with a successful record in providing a continuous stream of business activity. This new role is to build and develop close relationships with the key clients and to maximise the companies' market position and increase sales opportunities. The role will require finding potential new clients and operating in new market segments through various mediums.

The ideal candidate would have at least five years' previous private sector experience in construction, rail or engineering, working in sales and business development.


Business Development
Conduct face to face meetings with new clients, particularly relevant agents, to maximise opportunities in cross selling company's services
Generate leads and research new clients to pinpoint key decision makers to meet and pitch services to increase opportunities within the relevant sectors.
Convert target clients into active prospects in order to increase portfolio and revenue stream.
Raise company's profile as the industry leader by networking.
Expand into new industry sectors in correlation surveys (Line and Level) in rail, telecoms and the water industries.

Business Development Planning
Attend industry networking events and conferences
Established knowledge and experiences dealing with defined government frameworks.
Identify opportunities and routes to market that would lead to an increase in sales
Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators.
Work in different market segments to identify opportunities and revenue streams

Client Retention
Work with the Account Managers to present new products and services to enhance existing relationships.
Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
