Goodall Brazier currently require an experienced Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial support to one of the most prestigious construction projects in UK history.

Our client, a market leading modular building contractor, have been appointed to provide enabling works, workforce accommodation & contractor facilities to support this key UK infrastructure project throughout its 10 year construction cycle.

This individual will provide commercial support at the clients Head Office in East Yorkshire for 6 months, following this period there will be the option to be based on site in Somerset for 12-18 months.

NEC option A experience and strong subcontractor procurement skills from a construction background are highly beneficial.

Responsibilities include;
-Manage projects through the entire project lifecycle.
-Prepare estimates, cost plans and tender documentation using various forms of measurement and contracts.
-Be proficient in measurement for Schedule of Works and Bills of Quantities production.
-Prepare and agree interim valuations with contractors and issue recommendations for payment.
-Pricing variations throughout the duration of the contract and provide cost advice.
-Attend site meetings, and provide input and support to the project.
-Price and prepare monthly financial cost reports and cashflow forecasts throughout the period of a contract.
-Agree re-measurement of quantities with contractors, and prepare and agree final accounts and claims. Prepare final accounts for clients that are suitable for audit.
-Preparation and analysis of statistical cost information to monitor trends in the Building -Industry and assisting with cost planning future projects.
-Administer and provide advice on contracts, typically the JCT and NEC forms of contract.
-Provide assistance to other disciplines within the company as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

The successful applicant will have;
-Excellent organisational and communication skills
-Strong commercial awareness
-Team player, who has the ability to self-start and work independently
-Full driving licence
-Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
-A degree or other qualification in quantity surveying would be advantageous but is not essential

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the construction of one of the country's most important and prestigious infrastructure projects
