My client, a housing association based in Hertfordshire is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join their team.

This is a full time, temporary position and the successful candidate will have previous experience providing the day to day operational management of a team of repair and maintenance operatives.

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows;

To ensure the delivery of a highly efficient and effective repairs service including responsive repairs, scheduled works, void works, and those requiring disabled adaptations
To ensure that resources, including the potential use of sub-contractors, are utilised and deployed appropriately to deliver operational excellence achieving branch and functions KPI's with a clear focus on cost management, customer and service excellence.
To play an active and positive role as part of the Management of the service within the Business
Day to day management of the workforce
To set, manage and monitor delivery of the objectives of the workforce within the Business
To ensure a co-ordinated approach across their business delivering a high quality service through effective deployment of resources
To contribute to the successful delivery of their Teams' performance against agreed targets
To manage and monitor the KPI performance framework for the workforce and deal effectively with poor performance
To ensure productivity targets are set and achieved by the workforce
To contribute to the delivery of a robust and effective Health and Safety management system for the branch through monitoring compliance with required standards, policies and procedures
To deliver Toolbox Talks and ensure effective communication with the workforce
To implement consistent and standardised policies and procedures throughout the business by implementation of a quality management system
To develop and sustain relationships with key stakeholders in particular client teams contributing to a positive working relationship and robust management of contracts.
To contribute to the successful management of the material supply chain contracts and effectively manage sub-contractors.
Provide effective visible management of your team ensuring that challenging objectives and requirements are met within a positive and performance focused environment
Monitor the ongoing training requirements of all staff members whilst encouraging individuals to work with and learn from each other and promote this ethos across your wider area of responsibility
Participate in the emergency Out Of Hours call out system on a rota basis as part of delivering customer and operational excellence.
To perform a proportion of pre and post inspections for your service area
Perform any other duties as may be reasonably requested by your line manager
Take responsibility for the Commercial performance of their function
You will ensure that you take into account any potential environmental impact as a result of your activities
Undertake any training deemed necessary to raise awareness and control any Environmental impact
