What is the purpose of the role?

From the moment activities are raised for the Waste Network Contractor your job will be to review all of these activities. This review will involve challenging any activities raised and prove it is required in line with our current serviceability standards. Your role will also involve estimating all low value activities and possible high value activities. You will also be tasked with delivering savings on all low/high value operational activities. Your role may also involve reviewing when planned follow on activities are required to resolve a customer issue; you will be responsible for packing the various work stages together and ensuring that permits, permissions and equipment restrictions have been identified at each stage. This role will be critical in ensuring work is executed by our contractors first time and will require excellent planning and influencing skills. Your role will be responsible for the delivery of stringent H&S standards, compliance with Regulatory requirements and for driving our contractor's performance in delivering customer service. You will ensure we get it right first time for customers, reduce complaints and unwanted contacts, and drive up customer satisfaction. This role will have a particular emphasis on ensuring that properties affected by sewer flooding and loss of service have the right resolution to their problems in a timely fashion.

A role offering the right candidate plenty of autonomy, liaising with contractors, stakeholders and engineers you will need to be astute and be a great communicator, organised and punctual as you will working to tight deadlines at times. You will be based at Slough Customer Service Centre.

What will this role involve?

In this position you will be responsible for:

Reviewing of daily backlogs and ability to challenge work activities raised.

Estimating costing for all high and low value activities.

Delivering savings on all low value and high value operational activities.

Delivering Operational and Customer performance through excellent field planning and liaison with key stakeholders such as the Local Authorities.

Driving a culture of excellent Health & Safety.

Delivering excellent customer experience.

Managing the SFOC backlog and ensuring a 10 day cycle time.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with current H&S management experience, as well as proven construction/contractor management and engineering experience. You will have the ability to challenge contractors and make appropriate judgements. The ideal candidate will have excellent planning and organisational skills. You will have strong customer and stakeholder management skills and will be resilient with a self-starter attitude. We are looking for someone with the ability to deliver against stretching targets. You will have knowledge of SFOC, Streetworks and Backlog management process.

This role is based at Slough Customer Service Centre. We are offering a salary of between £27,200 and £36,800, depending on skills and experience.
