About the role
Reporting to the Superintendent - Maintenance Analysis & Improvement Surface, and leading a team of three, this role is at the very forefront of ensuring the continued operation and utilisation of the Surface plant and infrastructure at Olympic Dam.
Your purpose in this position is to manage the continued development, implementation and operation of the Olympic Dam statutory program for fixed plant and infrastructure with a very strong focus on specifically pressure equipment across the Olympic Dam Operation. This will include the completion and documentation of plant integrity inspections on statutory pressure equipment and pipework.
To successfully fulfil the purpose of the role, it is expected that you will be able to display a strong track record in the reliability operation and inspection of chemical, mining or similar processing industry on large scale operations. This supplemented by experience in the requirements of inspection systems, codes and standards and their application. A sound understanding of materials and failure mechanisms is a must, as is demonstrated thorough experience in pressure equipment inspection, weld inspection and supervision, procedure design and review, risk assessment and NDT.
The ability to effectively communicate to all levels and build strong professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders will be key to your success in this role, as will you unwavering commitment to continuously ensuring that the highest standard of Safety is maintained at all times.
A Mechanical engineering qualification or similar is essential, and AICIP and/or WTIA accreditation will also be highly regarded and relevant to the scope of this role.
Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 5/2 roster arrangement, with residential or FIFO options available.
Olympic Dam is located approximately 10 kilometres from Roxby Downs, a community of 3,500 people with an active and progressive community network. Roxby Downs is home to a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.
