Job Summary
AECOM is looking for an Human Resources People Services Manager to support the Americas HR People Services team which is located in Austin, Texas. This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day HR service delivery which includes employee lifecycle transactions and onboarding tasks related to new hire activities. The Manager will ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and satisfaction to include standardized Service Level Agreements. This is a key role to the organization and will be critical in supporting the team as new work is identified and incorporated across multiple skills and knowledge areas in human resources, company policies, procedures and programs. This position can be located in either Austin, Texas or Glen Allen, Virginia.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Contributes by leading a departmental "sub function", mid-size client project or multiple processes/programs including:
    • Integrates functional strategies and develops specific objectives for the sub-function, client delivery or processes/programs
    • Develops policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure or applies procedures to the client environment
    • Adapts and executes functional or departmental business plans and contributes to the development of functional or departmental strategies
  • Contributes by making day-to-day decisions for a mid-size group/department, or as an individual contributor leading a process or program of moderate complexity, working collaboratively with direct reports and other teams (as applicable)
  • Understands the strategy that's been set for their particular part of the business and executes to achieve required results
  • Increasingly responsible for achieving results through either individual knowledge and expertise or through the work of others and has the ability to influence and negotiate with parts of the organization where formal authority is not held
  • Accountable for managing self and others, setting direction and deploying resources; will be responsible for performance evaluations, pay reviews and hire/fire decisions
  • Provides input to functional or departmental strategy
  • Provides technical or functional guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers
  • Works towards objectives established by upper levels of management
  • Will recommend departmental specific procedures and implements those that are approved
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operations challenges
  • Typically an individual contributor but may direct the activities of a small to medium size team
  • Provides technical or operational guidance to employees colleagues and/or customers
  • Ensures that project goals/milestones are met and approved budgets contained
  • When managing a team, defines team operating standards and ensures essential procedures are followed based on knowledge of own discipline
  • Uses their acquired expertise and knowledge to solve business challenges and provide focus to subordinates

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8 years of related experience
  • 3-5 years managing a virtual staff
  • Experience in successfully managing process and culture change
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Exposure to computerized HR and/or payroll information systems
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven organization skills to manage a busy workload
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Collaborative team player
