About the Business Line
We address the complete spectrum of energy challenges, including clean and renewable energy, energy efficiency and carbon management, hydropower and dams, thermal, geothermal and wind power generation, and transmission and distribution.

Job Summary
The Energy Efficiency (EE) group of AECOM is seeking experienced and motivated energy engineers in the NYC office. The successful candidate will be working in the EE group responsible for developing and implementing creative energy solutions, and consulting services to commercial, institutional, and government clients.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting field surveys identifying mechanical and electrical systems in commercial buildings
  • Identifying energy savings opportunities resulting in energy cost savings and/or energy consumption reduction
  • Developing energy usage breakdown
  • Supporting in-house energy modeling team in developing energy models and energy benchmarking
  • Supporting senior engineering team members in identifying and developing energy efficiency projects
  • Assisting with proposal preparation and technical specification preparation
  • Reviewing/revising drawings
  • Investigating/gathering information to solve problems

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
  • 0-2 years of experience in field survey and/or energy auditing
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems for commercial buildings, and energy management fundamentals to identify energy savings opportunities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills to plan field audit work with customers and other team members
  • Experience in energy modeling using DOE approved software packages - eQuest, DOE II, TREAT, or TRACE
  • Preferred certifications - Certified Energy Auditor, Certified Energy Manager, or High Performance Building Design
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in commercial buildings
