The role will involve communicating and selling to potential prospects and customers the value of the MRV products and solutions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide the technical expertise to the sales group to meet quota goals and increase market NA pre-qualification technical due diligence of opportunities, bid/no bid recommendations. Engage with customers, partners, colleagues and the sales team as a mentor and subject matter expert advisorDeliver technical presentations, the "perfect pitch" to generate customer interest.Consult, engineer, plan and execute local, regional and countrywide network designs and NA technical architectures that are dependable, modifiable and scalableInterfaces with customers to determine technical requirements feasibility and NA the technical aspect to RFPs, RFI'NA high quality, accurate and timely responses to technical requirements received from customers in the fieldIdentifies current and future customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand technical NA in the sale cycle by educating the customer on MRV products and solution. ADDITIONAL DUTIES Train sales partners on MRV products and NA technology sessions to the sales organizationPrepare and publish whitepapers on competitors' products and solutions. SCOPE Annually define quota REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIESMust possess a subject matter expert knowledge level on Optical and Carrier Ethernet NA understanding of Carrier, Service Provider, Data Center and Enterprise MarketsStrong Applied knowledge on Optics, OTN, WDM, SONET, 10G, 40G, 100G, 200G and POTSDemonstrated extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, IP/MPLS, RSVP, LDP, OSPF, BGP and other routing protocols in a service provider environment is NA and pricing Layer 0/1 Optical WDM/OTN NetworksDesigning and pricing Layers 2/3 Carrier Ethernet and IP/MPLS NetworksDesigning and pricing Layers 0 to 3 Converged Packet Optical NetworksThorough understanding of SDN/NFV TechnologyThorough understanding of Standards Forums (ONF, MEF, IETF, ITU, IEEE, etc)Specific experience with MEF and Carrier Ethernet services and certifications. Experience with Optical Network Design Tools (ODT), Network Management Systems (NMS/FCAPS) and Life Cycle Service Orchestration (LSO)Must possess a customer first attitude with the ability to Multi-task, effectively manage time in an effort to meet Customer timeline SLAs in delivering Network Designs, BOMS, etc. both accurately and on NA written and verbal communication, negotiation, listening and presentation NA and willingness to work under pressure and meet deadlinesAbility to think ahead and anticipate problems, issues and solutionsExcellent problem solving and interpersonal skills REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE BS, BA, or Equivalent Work Experience in the Industry Minimum 12 + years of experience working in Sales Engineering, System Engineering or Technical Sales Consulting.
