Purpose of Role
• Development of Information Systems strategy to support the business plan of the respective business unit. - Providing an interface between the IS and IT Shared Services ensuring a business focus is maintained and performance targets are managed/monitored. - Assuring the quality of output from the IS and IT Shared Service (project assurance). - Actively involved with clients and front line delivery. - To seek and develop opportunities within the Business to improve efficiency through the appropriate application of technology thus providing a competitive edge. - To build and maintain an effective ‘network of contacts’ with the business, clients and solution providers to ensure that Carillion is aligned to business and client expectations and aware of market trends. - Ensuring and monitoring delivery to SLA targets. - Working with the IS Director, to facilitate the delivery of the IS strategy.

Principal Accountabilities
• Ensuring that Business Unit IS and IT needs are recognised in the Carillion IS and IT strategy. - Agree scope and prioritisation of IS projects. - Building effective relationships with key business, clients and solution providers - Identifying the business unit requirements and future customer trends. - Identification of process change within the business unit. - Leading improvement and innovation within business unit. - Securing IS project delivery resources from the IS Shared Service. - Monitoring all aspects of the project’s performance with in the IS Shared Service. - Identifying bid support requirements and securing resource. - Production of required activity reporting information. - Achieving SLA targets

Additional Role Information
This is a key role coordinating the effective use of technology by the business unit in delivering on customer expectations. Critical aspects of the role include:
• Managing the system focused teams within the business to provide a consistent approach to improving customer delivery and to improving business efficiency
• Liaison and coordination with ICT with regards to BAU and Project Activities
• Proactive role in identifying and pursuing systems improvements
• Business ownership of systems driven improvement programs
