The services of Hays have been retained by our client, the largest public housing body in Northern Ireland, to recruit a Technical Officer on a temporary contract basis to work from their offices in Belfast. This position is initially offered for a period of 3 months, subject to possible extension.
Your new role
Your role will include:
Pre-inspecting properties in line with policy to assess the eligibility of improvement works. This will include preparing schedules and specifications. Once complete, you will issue an order for works to be completed by the agreed maintenance contractor.
Supervising works on site and carrying out a post inspection to ensure that works have been completed as per specifications and to an acceptable standard before authorising payment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position you must satisfy the following criteria:
Possess a Degree in a construction related discipline with 1 years relevant experience Or a BTEC Higher Diploma HND in a construction related discipline Building Studies with 2 years relevant experience.
Alternatively, you must possess a minimum of 4 years experience working on the design, improvement or maintenance of domestic properties.
The successful applicant will also possess a good knowledge with Computer packages.
What you'll get in return
The pay rate for this position is £9.00 per hour along with paid annual leave. The hours of work are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Mileage will be paid at 45p per mile.
Hays will provide you with an online portal system to submit weekly time sheets and mileage claims.
Payments will be made every Friday by BACS payment directly into your account.
This position is offered on a temporary contract basis anticipated to run for 3 months in the first instance with the possibility of further extension.
