A Test Automation Engineer is required immediately to join the R&D team of a specialist development company in Cambridge. This pioneering technology company are going through a major growth phase and offering share options and a lucrative package to Test Automation Engineers experienced in test development (in Python or C) to work on their complex and challenging networking software products that are the industry standard in its field.

Their ultra-low-latency networking product architectures enable superior performance in a broad range of applications, including financial services, high-performance computing, cloud computing, storage and virtualised data centres. This Test Automation Engineer will take on a senior role within the team, and will be presented with lots of technically challenging projects to ensure the quality of their output.

• Test and Automation Development - developing unit tests, test cases and system tests, supporting the use of test tools by the wider engineering group
• Creating test plans, documenting test plans and set-ups, configuring test set-ups
• Running tests, isolating failures and reducing bugs
• Analysing and reporting test results
• Assisting with root cause analysis
• Working closely with the Software developers and the Hardware group

• 2 plus years (or equivalent) experience in a software development or test development role
• Excellent Python programming abilities
• Some experience of C programming
• Ability to configure Linux and Windows systems
• Solid bug reporting / triage skills
• Experience of protocols - TCP, IP, UDP, ICMP, ARP
• Performance of tests and ability to isolate failures and reduce bugs
• HND or Degree in a relevant technical subject (Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or Physics)
