Job Description

Job Title: Trainee Print Service Engineer - Electrical / mechanical

Location: Dublin

Basic Salary: 28,000 - 30,000 per annum + benefits


You will be working for a Global client installing and maintaining graphic hardware products . The focus is on direct customer contact and escalations..



* To repair and maintain customer graphic hardware equipment effectively and efficiently
* To solve technical issues - troubleshooting
* To carry out installations of all Graphics hardware products
* To document technical issues; ensure logging + closure of calls according to guidelines
* To assist internal and external customers (e.g. user, freelancer, colleagues from all business areas, HQ) on-site and remotely on technical questions and issues
* To follow escalation procedures
* To adhere toSLA's
* To provide hardware training and follow up as required to customers and local support agents

To work on a stand alone basis



A professional qualification in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Science) and/or relevant electro-mechanical technical qualifications. This role would ideally suit an Electrical / mechanical graduate with relevant qualifications such as a HND looking to progress with a Global client.


* Expected to work well under pressure within a team or unsupervised
* Effective communications with internal and external customers
* Problem analysis skills
* Planning + execution skills
* Be computer literate
* Good time management skills
* Become compliant with local health + safety regulations
* Out of hours support / standby arrangements may be required.
* Occasional support of customers in other countries (remote and onsite)

Specific areas of training and subsequent areas of expertise

* Electro-mechanical engineering
* Understanding of both electrical-electronics and mechanical principles
* Understanding of both digital and analogue systems
* Pneumatics
* Electrical systems and motors
* Laser imaging systems
* Use of optical systems
* Inkjet equipment and sub-assemblies
* Conveyors and material handling systems
* Understanding of electronic circuit boards at component level
* Driving licence
* Possible overnight stays
