Our client provides a full range of Civil, Structural and Environmental engineering consultancy services from offices in Manchester's Northern Quarter.
They have an opportunity for a Near Chartered or Chartered design engineer who would like to work on a range of exciting projects. The candidate must be proficient in the design of buildings using various materials and should be able to develop initial scheme concepts into completed designs with the assistance of our in-house team. Ideally the candidate would be proficient in Autocad, 3D modelling and have a working knowledge of Revit and be able to work to British Standards/ Eurocodes.
The successful applicant will be self motivated, conscientious and able to work as a team player with minimum supervision.
The role will involve:
- Undertaking engineering feasibility assessments, preliminary designs and reports to professional standards of quality to meet target dates for delivery - Preparing concept designs and options studies that will form the basis of further development work - Inspecting and reporting on construction site matters - Participating in design reviews and meetings as required
- Undertaking problem solving in conjunction with the Directors
- Mentoring junior staff
The practice is committed to the development and use of Computer Aided Design and makes extensive use of a number of leading design packages including CAD, Tekla, Revit, Windes, Building Designer, etc. The candidate will ideally be skilled in the use of 3D design and modelling software.
