To manage procurement activity across the Ground Engineering Business. To support the strategic approach of the business stream and to deliver Business objectives as set by the Commercial Director and Procurement Director.|
To support the development and delivery of the Supply Chain Management strategy to ensure that the business and all projects has sector leading internal and external supply chain resource to support current and forecasted growth which incorporates Core Operational Excellence (Subcontractor Excellence and Supplier Relationship Management, Supply Chain Development and Performance Measurement), Delivery of Customer Priorities, Feedback, Learning and Continuous Improvement.
*Creating a market leading, winning supply chain strategy for the client
*Support strategic work winning activity to ensure our supply chain has the capability and capacity to meet our future needs. Taking the strategic overview of work winning to develop
new supply chains, building early collaboration with suppliers to maximise innovation and value.
*Leading and shaping forward category management strategies for key commodities within the company and aligning these strategies to the wider objectives for direct category management
*Working with the Commercial team and the Procurement team to implement standard procurement process and procedures within the development of a new UK BMS.
*Liaise with project teams to understand project requirements and develop schedules into project procurement plans
*Development of package specific sourcing plans RFQs, evaluation of supplier responses, negotiations with suppliers, order placement and contract management
*Identify demand and capacity issues within the supply chain and the development of risk mitigation strategies Lead and shape the SME, Local and EDI supply chain engagement
programme. Compile performance management information relating to suppliers to ensure
continuous improvement within the supply chain
*Manage procurement relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
* Keep abreast of market developments, demand trends and risks, and ensure that each client's
requirements are understood
*Focus on exceeding minimum service expectations by delivering an agile, value adding service with a deep understanding of customer requirements, technical competence, functional knowledge and process efficiency.
*Contribute to communications with the wider procurement team to share information and learning from within business streams.
*Lead, develop and coach individuals to build high performing teams and create a pipeline of talent
This role requires substantial project procurement management experience within a construction related environment. It will also require experience of projects with sub-contractors and suppliers.
The individual will need to demonstrate a proven track record within strategic sourcing, managing supplier relationships, negotiation, process compliance, leading complex sourcing activities and supplier integration into project teams. The role will require excellent analytical skills, strong commercial awareness, a measured approach to decision making and the ability to ensure best value procurement. The ability to adopt a pragmatic, yet disciplined approach to process compliance is essential.
An understanding of legal frameworks and contract law is desirable
MCIPS qualification or degree is desirable.
