The Estates & Facilities Department at Queens Hospital is looking for a dynamic individual to work alongside professionals who care about delivering a first class service.

Quality and patient care is paramount, and the Estates & Facilities team ensure the best service is given.

Having specific objectives and responsibilities, the successful applicant will have a fundamental knowledge of health care estates maintenance procedures and priorities.

Knowledge of Estates services, along with excellent communication skills, application of initiative & strength of resolve, are essential.

You will be part of the team who are responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive maintenance and installation service across the Trust's estates, which will be responsive, efficient, financially effective and to a high standard. You should possess good communication skills both written and verbal and be prepared to participate in an on-call rota.

The ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative is essential and you will be expected to provide a flexible and efficient service to cover a wide range of mechanical and electrical plant and equipment in varied locations.

It is essential that you are a fully trained, time served Craftsman, who followed a recognised mechanical apprenticeship, or equivalent. A working knowledge of current HTM's would be desirable.

The successful applicant should also be qualified in electrical maintenance and repairs up to a minimum of NVQ level 2, be able to work shifts and live within a 40 minute travelling radius of the Hospital.
