My client is a large independent firm of design consultants, engineers, planners, and technical specialists. They are looking to take on a Senior Engineer to join their team of Engineers within their Liverpool, Manchester or Cheshire office. This role will be varied and require the structural design of solutions at all stages of a project from feasibility through to site completion. Current Projects include a £1 billion university centre, multimillion pound Retail Development, new state of the art college amongst many more new, exciting projects around the North West.
The ideal candidate will have aspirations to develop to Associate level within a few years, with scope to develop the role and increase the structural team around them.

• Mentoring of Structural Engineering
• Delivery of commercial targets for Structural Engineering
• Leading major projects
• To lead on the delivery of quality assured, client focused products and services to meet the agreed requirements of the customer
• Deal with necessary authorities to progress the project
• Carry out basic checks by hand on scheme designs as well as check more complex computed design
• Visit sites, carry out site investigations, attend site meetings and check progress of work on site

• Degree qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering to Masters level
• Desirable to be at Chartered Engineer status via an appropriate professional institution such as IStructE or ICE, but working towards this
• Extensive experience in the field of structural design and delivery across a range of medium to large scale projects and/or building types
• Be able to demonstrate strong building structural design ability on major and/or complex projects
• Confidence and ability to quickly develop successful client relationships, client facing skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, balance priorities, and meet strict deadlines is essential
• Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
• Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness and acumen.
• Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges
• Potential to develop both design and business leadership skills
• Experience of leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects desirable
