Managing a team of 3 / 4 people, you will be responsible to providing an internal consultative service - visioning, problem solving, project managing, research problems, suggest market, engage with the business and really be able to talk HR language.

Essential competencies

• Management of an effective team

• Knowledge and experience of SAP HCM components: Personnel Administration (PA), Organisational Management (OM), Payroll (PY), Personnel Development (PD), Recruitment (RC), Training & Events (PE), Employee Self Service (ESS) and Employee Interaction Centre (EIC)

• At least 5 years implementation configuration experience of key SAP HCM components

• Knowledge of Performance Management systems

• Experience of full project life-cycle: requirements analysis, process design, blueprint documentation, specification of required developments, gap analysis, configuration, testing and production support

• Understanding of technology/market trends and probable impacts

• Problem management, estimation and planning skills

The ideal candidate would also have:

• Experience of PRINCE2 as a practitioner

• Industry knowledge of a professional services firm

• Experience of SAP data conversion tools such as LSMW

• Experience of building reports using SAP Query tools


• Degree level qualified or equivalent

• Qualified through experience

Business Applications is made up of a number of teams providing subject matter expertise on, and responsible for the IT solutions underpinning the following service areas:

HR & Talent; Opportunity to Cash; Document Management & Collaboration; Finance; Business Intelligence; Technical (SAP BASIS; Development e.g. ABAP/JAVA, .NET and VBA; Operational systems e.g. ServiceNow)

The HR & Talent team are responsible for an established SAP ECC6 solution providing Core HR, Payroll, Benefits and Performance Management plus other bespoke/SaaS products for On-boarding, Compensation review and Resource Scheduling. In addition to 3rd tier business support and coaching of 2nd tier, activities include: working directly with the business to perform detailed analysis of requirements; preparation and validation of solution designs; management of the delivery of technical components; integration testing; co-ordination of user acceptance testing and change management activities in readiness for implementation.

This is an internal role in a people centric business and this management position an opportunity to lead the team on a day to day basis, working with the business stakeholders to establish priorities and in conjunction with other team leads to balance them and fully utilise shared resources.

Job Title: HR & Talent Lead (IT)

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £60-70k plus EXCELLENT benefits (an additional £5,100 flexible benefits package is offered too - this can just be added to the salary if desired) - the standard office hours are 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, however a degree of flexibility is expected given the accountabilities of the role
