Ensures the execution of overhead/underground construction duties such as: placing hard-line cables, fiber optics, frame and strand poles, transfer facilities between poles, place cable in joint trench, and safe operation of construction vehicles and cable trailers.|
Investigates and monitors accurate record keeping with regards to project start, milestone dates, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures.
Instructs work site safety standards; conducts work site visits to ensure compliance with safety standards and participates in regular safety meetings with the crew.
Ensures that resources (i.e. vehicles, equipment, and inventory) are maintained in proper working order.
Supports Specialists and leadership team with coordination of projects.
Generates logs and reports on construction, projects, materials, and expenditures.
Reviews, resolves, follows-up customer request and complaints.
Monitors performance of construction crew to established goals and objectives.
Advises, trains, and guides technicians.
Assists with the annual plant construction budget.
Inspect the quality of work by vendors ensuring that all standards (federal, state, and company) are followed.
Review, scrutinize, and submit vendor invoices for approval.
Collaborates with vendor to coordinate project schedules, negotiate terms and conditions for projects.
Develops estimates for new build, FTTX, Node splits, rebuild, upgrade, Metro-E, fiber deep, and any other construction efforts.
Secure all permits, easements for new builds, maintenance, and& pole relocations for state, county and/or private.
Oversee and coordinate& & & & the Outside Plant Fiber Network for node splits, and FTTX projects through to a fully constructible job package.
Participate in weekly node spit calls.
Review node split design for accuracy.
Review BOM's and order required materials.
Submit final coax and fiber as-builts for all fiber related projects.
Maintain a project list, project track, and close documentation.
Meet with stakeholders, including developers and customers, to determine infrastructure requirements for services availability.
Engage in fiber related outage escalations and guide restoration response and repair strategies.
Required to participate in the GBR on-call rotation.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
