My client, a Satellite Streaming and Broadcast Provider, are looking for a Broadcast Support Engineer to join their team based at Media City, Manchester.

The successful candidate will have the following technical qualifications, expertise and experience.

* An Electronic/Electrical & Broadcast Engineering background with a minimum academic standard to HNC/HND level of qualification, or equivalent
* A good knowledge of TV Engineering principles
* Specific experience in at least some of the following specific technologies: Avid/EVS, production switchers, broadcast cameras, AV routers, audio mixers, modular infrastructure "glue"
* Ability and competence to evaluate technical problems using appropriate Broadcast test and measurement equipment
* Conversant with electrical power systems - UPS and Generator
* Good understanding of video and audio broadcast systems

The key responsibilities of this position will be

* To keep the Support Manager/Shift Leader/Production/MCR Staff appraised of the status of any issues, as appropriate
* To resolve any faults or failures as quickly as possible
* To log all faults and irregularities and pass information between shifts
* To carry out first line support to all broadcast areas
* To assist with in-house broadcast project and installation work
* Ensure correct functioning of various broadcast systems and sub-systems
* Performance of preventative maintenance as necessary
* Oversee external contractors e.g. Ups maintenance teams, electrical safety teams etc
* Ensure system documentation is up to date
* Maintain good working knowledge of industry best practice
* Stay up to date with developments in the relevant technical fields

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the attributes.
