Graduate / Junior PLC Software Engineer - 1-2 years' Experience - Merseyside - £20-25k + overtime

Samuel Frank Associates require a Graduate or Junior Level PLC Software Engineer to join a client in the Merseyside area. The successful Software Engineer will have some level of controls, instrumentation, automation, software engineering or electrical vocational experience, be that from a previous role or from a university placement year. Candidates with knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA, HMI design or similar will be well suited.

The client is open to specific vendor experience of PLCs so knowledge of Rockwell and/or Siemens systems (Siemens S7, Allen Bradley ControlLogix 500/5000) would be useful.


Computer literate with understanding of structured software design - PLC, SCADA, HMI
Minimum HNC/HND in software engineering, electrical engineering or control systems
Enthusiasm and positivity for developing sound design solutions
Driving licence essential

Applicants will ideally be qualified to HNC/HND level or above, or have completed an electrical apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or similar. The client is looking for someone who is enthusiastic, has attention to detail and can work alone and/or as part of a team. Good communication skills are essential.

You will need to be customer facing as you will be expected to work on client site and deal with customers. Site work could be international and for period of 1-2 weeks at a time for large projects. You may also be expected to work away from the North West during the week.

The client's premises are commutable from Liverpool, Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, St Helens, Warrington, Chester or Northwich.
