An exciting opportunity has arisen for a IT Infrastructure Manager to join an independent systems software engineering company.|
The purpose of the role is to ensure the IT infrastructure, client devices, support services and business applications that it requires to execute its business, as defined in the IT annual business plan.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring that the services are provided in time efficient manner and complaint with the corporate and security governance frameworks.
As a IT infrastructure manager your duties will involve:
" Responsible for delivering the business infrastructure and will support the IT Applications Manager & IT Service Delivery Manager in the delivery of the remaining services.
" Contribute to the overall business plan, working cross functionally with internal stakeholders to elicit requirements and develop the IT Roadmap and budgets that support both the long term and the short term objectives of the overall business
" Delivery of the elements of the roadmap applicable to the them, within the agreed budget
" Identify and propose options to improve the operation or efficiency of the business.
" Ensure that infrastructure is available to all users as required by the business and that it is delivered within the agreed annual budget.
" Ensure that the required testing & monitoring is carried out on the infrastructure to detect potential and actual attacks as well as test for vulnerabilities.
" Ensure that where issues are identified these are highlighted to the SWG with proposed actions and that any actions defined or agreed by the SWG are implemented.
" Keep up to date with technology trends and new developments
" Ensure that an enterprise wide disaster recovery plan is in place for all IT infrastructure elements and that it is maintained and tested.
" Ensure that all IT infrastructure is compliant with the corporate and government security requirements
" Support operational projects in infrastructure and related activities
" Manage any staff allocated to the team.
An ideal IT Infrastructure Manager will hold the following skills and experience:
" Proven Virtualisation Experience - HyperV and VMWare.
" MCSA Server 2008/2012 or above.
" In Depth knowledge of Corporate IT Fundementals with examples: Networking, Active Directory and associated services. Backup, A/V, VPN, Proxies, WiFi, PKI, MDM.
" Microsoft SCCM 2012 r2.
" Microsoft Exchange 2010.
" Checkpoint or Cisco Firewalls.
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
o Commercial, business and financial knowledge.
o Flexibility to respond to changing business needs.
o Ability to support more than one project at a time.
o Willing and able to travel between sites at short notice depending on demands of the business
