London South Bank University (LSBU) is one of London's largest and oldest universities with over 25,000 students and 1,900 staff. The University has a large and diverse Central London estate portfolio with over 30 buildings totalling 120,000m2 in size. We have invested heavily in our estate over the last 10 years in addition to ambitious development plans for the future.|
Reporting to the Maintenance and Energy Manager, the newly created post of Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the management of the scheduling, measurement of performance and delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across the diverse multi-site portfolio. The prime role is to ensure that the universities assets are maintained and repaired to a high standard whilst achieving value for money. In addition to day to day operational planned and reactive maintenance the post will also be responsible for the management of project works and the repairs, upgrading and alteration of all infrastructure (both M&E and fabric).
The successful candidate will be qualified in an M&E related discipline with extensive experience in the preparation and control of budgets for maintenance, repair and replacement works. Significant experience in the selection of suitable contractors and effective management of contracts is essential. The successful individual could come from a comparable client side/end user environment in either the public or private sector but equally a strong track record working with service provision/contracting would be suitable.
