My client are seeking Electrical/Electronics Engineers to join our enthusiastic team operating, maintaining and developing these systems. These roles offer an exciting and rare opportunity for suitable candidates to develop and widen their experience of small signal electronics, power electronics and electrical plant, as well as the opportunity to become an "in-house expert" for some systems. As the systems vary across a whole spectrum of electrical and electronics technologies it is recognised that the role may need to be adapted to align with the technical skills of a new recruit. |
Electrical/Electronics Engineering degree and at least 2 years post graduate experience
The main responsibilities of the roles will include:
As a Plant Responsible Officer (PRO) for one or more systems, undertake fault-finding activities at system level, seeking to both minimise the frequency of plant faults and enhance performance, prepare plant documentation and technical reports, including drawings and work procedures and provide staff training. .
Leading and delivering small projects e.g. the installation and commissioning of power supplies plant and control systems including, where required, the supervision of craft effort and technicians.
During MAST Operations the job holder will be rostered as a MAST Power Supplies Operations Engineer (MPSOE) ensuring the safe and effective operation of the pulsed power supplies. Working with a team of engineers and physicists to operate one of the world leading tokamaks with the opportunity to be involved in the experiments
An honours degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline and 2 years (minimum) post graduate experience in an electrical/electronic engineering role; or other equivalent and relevant qualifications and professional experience which demonstrates an ability to work at this level.
Proven experience ideally working on power conversion and related control systems at component, sub-system and system level, including fault finding..
Ability to write reports in clear and unambiguous English.
An ability to work well alone, or as part of a team
