Description Transit Supervisors organize, direct, manage, evaluate, and are responsible for customer service activities, policies and procedures implementation and employee discipline. Education A Grad 12 Graduation is required; Should have previous supervisory experience. A combination of related supply chain customer service training and experience may be considered an equivalent is an asset. Tasks Will provide direct "on street" supervision of Transit Bus Operations. The Transit Supervisor will be responsible in conducting an annual evaluation of all Conventional and Community Transit Drivers and will provide the Manager any feedback and suggestions on driver performance based on their review and daily encounters. Will monitor radio communications, activity at Transit Exchanges and respond to day to day on road operational issues. Will monitor radio communication to ensure correct procedures are being adhered to and in particular that passenger transfers to other routes are consistently and properly coordinated. Will monitor and follow up directly with drivers regarding any late or early departures from transit exchanges or en route timing points. Will perform on board supervision to ensure schedules are maintained and operating procedures are being followed, as well as Conduct covert and overt time checks to ensure schedule adherence. Will correct and verify compliance of Highway Traffic Act, as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Program. Will, when necessary, dispatch and temporary changes to routing, driver and vehicle assignments as required by traffic, capacity, road and weather conditions or breakdowns. Changes to routing or detours will be communicated to the operations center and then to the public. Will initiate emergency assistance procedures in the event of vehicle accidents or passenger injuries, and Initiate formal Incident Investigations in the event of vehicle collisions, passenger injuries, work place injuries or other incidents as required. Will ensure that incident / collision reports are completed when required. Will maintain a daily log of events including but not limited to missed service, late service, customer concerns, passenger pass ups, notes to driver records. Identify workplace safety hazards, as well as develop, and implement controls.
