This position is responsible for supporting the design, development and delivery of technical project within Information Services working with Aecon's technical team to meet organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Accomplish work requirements by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching employees
  • Meets work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements
  • Meets cost standards by monitoring expenses; implementing cost-saving actions
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Create course curriculum(s) to align with maintenance and enhancement releases
  • Develop and provide end user training
  • Devise course delivery/training mechanisms for a geographically dispersed user community
  • Develop work instructions, quick reference guides and other job aides to supplement end-user training
  • Conduct training needs assessment and upfront gap analysis and evaluation Assist in the development and coordination of multiple complex training operations
  • Work with Operations to fulfill training requirements
  • Maintain relevant assessment documentation and records
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for training programs
  • Develop, implement and evaluate new and existing training programs, as required
  • Manage the development of instructor-level training to maintain a cadre of in-state instructors
  • ProvideIT training support and advice to team members and clients
  • Review external training programs to ensure the highest standards are maintained, content remains current and instruction is proficient
  • Provide technical writings for various IT programs

Required Knowledge & Skills
  • Minimum 3-10 years of project management experience in the Information Technology industry
  • University degree, college diploma or equivalent
  • Very good educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering
  • Proven working experience in the information technology sector
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • Knowledge in the design and delivery of e-learning training
  • Willingness and the ability to learn new technology quickly and apply the knowledge in order to create training materials
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines while multi-tasking is essential in this role
  • Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Structured and process oriented mindset
  • Excellent detail orientation is essential
  • Self-motivated with a passion for providing high-quality client service is required
  • Sound knowledge of human performance, adult learning principles, organizational development, instructional systems design, and curriculum development
  • Ability to design and develop technical training curriculum and documentation
  • Ability to deliver and present training materials to high standard
  • Knowledge of training principles
  • Flexible and adaptable to deliver customer requirements
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
