Monitor and control all aspects of the Bechtel Startup Permit to Work System
Plan, guide, or prepare project administrative and technical documents as required for startup, maintenance, operation, and testing associated with the Permit to Work System
Develops and evaluates plans and criteria within a discipline or specialty for a variety of project activities. Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria and performance data relating to the specialty. Uses advanced startup engineering techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of related sciences and disciplines.
Applies specialized knowledge of startup methods to the solution of specific problems. Provides technical advice, guidance and counsel to project or taskforce personnel as assigned on specific assignments by providing the resolution of technical questions arising in the area of specialty. Provides input and participates in special technical educational and training programs as directed.
Assists in the preparation of project proposals. Assists in project design reviews and project operations manual preparation. Contacts client counterpart representatives or suppliers and appropriate field personnel as necessary to clarify aspects of startup engineering requirements.
Executes specialized assignments within a type of industry or type of industrial process for startup, operations, maintenance or testing.
Performs field consulting services as required. Prepares and gives presentations as directed. Maintains contact with others within area of expertise as directed regarding new concepts, approaches and solutions to problems.
A recognized degree in a job related engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university, or a professional license in an appropriate engineering or scientific discipline from a recognized licensing board, or a sufficient number of specialized courses in an appropriate engineering or scientific discipline to meet the job requirements. Also, extensive progressive work experience in the specialty.
In-depth knowledge of the specialty area and knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties. Technical knowledge of startup, operations, maintenance or testing.
Good knowledge of related construction and engineering practices and the economics involved. Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to the particular specialty.
Skill in oral and written communication.
