You will be joining an established organisation focussed on supporting vulnerable people in the community. This organisation primarily supports those escaping domestic abuse, helping them regain their independence. Therefore, we are committed and passionate about saving lives.
Your new role
As a support worker you will be supporting service users who are at risk or have been escaping domestic violence. You will be providing floating support in the Carmarthenshire area so driving is essential. As a support worker you will be using creative ways of ensuring that service users are supported in such a way that their potential for independence is maximised and that they are enabled to achieve outcomes which are appropriate to their needs and wishes. As a support worker you will ensure that service users' needs are assessed regularly and to work with them to develop, and adhere to, a task orientated personal support plan in line with Supporting People or other regulatory requirements and within the timescales required. As a support worker carry out risk assessments on each applicant and agree a risk management plan. As a support worker you will signpost, liaise with and facilitate service users' access to other services. As a support worker you will also carry out support service users to maintain tenure agreements ensuring they fully understand their obligations empowering them to deal with issues relating to housing management, maintenance and repairs.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful within your new support worker role you must have experience in working with vulnerable people and experience in a similar role would be beneficial. You must have experience in carrying out support plans and must be work flexible by participating in a rolling rota including working shifts and providing cover as required in the event of staff shortages. As a support you will use good practice in managing risk and lone working. An enhanced DBS is essential to this role, or the documents to produce one on your behalf.
