My client based in Bedford are looking for a Contracts Manager required for this nationwide contractor, selling and applying specialist maintenance and building products due to expansion of the company.|

As a Contracts Manager you will be able to work under pressure and to strict time constraints. You will have a proven track record within Contract Management and will be well used to working with both fully employed labour as well as self-employed sub-contractors and will be required to run numerous jobs at any one time, ensuring all necessary materials and labour both direct and sub-contractors will be on site and on time.
With your practical experience, technical knowledge and sales skills, you will successfully develop and increased volume and revenue within existing and new customer bases.
You will be expected to visit sites (as and when necessary), to meet and liaise with the client and/or to monitor and manage the application. You will have the aptitude to gain an in-depth knowledge of the products and application requirements and methods in view of ensuring the successful management of the customer's requirements and expectations.
Your customer services skills will be excellent and you will be responsible for the successful development and growth of this existing customer base. Being responsible for national and key account customer reviews & meetings you will participate in the contract negotiation and re negotiation of terms with existing customers and suppliers, internal delivery solutions and be the escalation point for customers and applicators alike.
You will have excellent management and leadership skills and monitor and manage the entire contract from the initial visit whereby you would ascertain the correct products required, the conditions of the substrate, the preparation methods needed through to the application of the said products to ensure perfect results.
It will be vital to ensure we have a right blend of contractors evenly distributed nationally. This supplier network must be sourced, built and maintained to enhance company offering. You will recruit, hire and retain front line delivery teams to maintain correct staffing levels and be accountable for the team retention & performance management reporting.
You will be responsible for the successful management of their recruitment, training, coaching, and development. You will then be accountable for constant management and service reviews.
You will prepare detailed Risk Assessments and Method Statements and ensure each job runs on time and within budget. To prepare/deliver clear performance expectations, performance reviews, track labour & material costs and revenues will be 'second nature' to you.
The setting, implementing and applying technical standards and best practice is paramount as is the need to guarantee compliance and adherence to contractual obligations, in relation to all Health and Safety issues, Risk Assessments and Method Statements. It will be critical for you to ensure the company and its operatives are updated with the latest safety standards and/or safety equipment required. You will have to be prepared to work with all departments and having a current CSCS, SSSTS or SMSTS card is imperative.
Contributing towards the development and strategic vision in line with company goals you will produce Management Information data / performance reports on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis. You will assist in the negotiations including Price, Profit and Loss and by providing weekly business reporting to senior management, you will be able to show the development of strategies to drive performance targets, increase revenue, gross profit, productivity & profitability. In relation to the project management and delivery of sales orders, you will continually be identifying ways to develop and to improve sustainability and commitment with constant opportunities to reducing costs.
