Built on strong, robust finances, the Carey Group is a growing multi-disciplinary construction company, delivering both minor and major contracts, operating as a Principal or Specialist Contractor in support of Construction Partners on significant, £Multi-million schemes.

As an Estimator based in our London office, the job holder must be comfortable in a demanding role estimating for projects ranging from a value of £1m - £10m. Your excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and familiarity with day to day workings of a well-established national Construction & Civil Engineering Company will be required to fulfil the demands of this role. You must be confident in your own ability, responsible and able to meet challenging deadlines on a daily basis.

The role may suit an individual who is undertaking or recently completed studies in Quantity Surveying or an Engineering background. Alternatively, a candidate who has experience in civils construction would be considered.

Primary Functions/ Duties
•A key member of the Bid Team to successfully submit bid proposals for each tender contract
•Responsible for the preparation Tender submissions for Civil Engineering projects
•Cost planning
•Measuring & ' Quantity Take-Off', taking measurements from drawings
•Sourcing pre-project information and analysing sub-contractor quotations, agreements & enquiries
•Producing Bills Of Quantities
•Assist managers to produce price & final summary sheets for review

Experience/ Key Skills
•Preferably degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering
•Experienced in working to SMM7, with knowledge of NRM2
•Ideally experienced in using CAD and / or Causeway would be an advantage but training will be given to the suitable candidate.
•Sound commercial acumen
•A confident communicator with all members of staff; a team player. You must have excellent interpersonal skills; maintain good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers and have a personable character.
•Excellent organisational skills and ability to adhere to strict deadlines on a daily & weekly basis.

•Starting salary will be subject to knowledge and experience in a similar function
•26* days holiday. (*Plus 8 days Bank Holidays)
