Experienced Senior Site Manager required work as No2 with the PM on a £5m further education scheme comprising a new build extension and some refurbishment of existing building in Reading.
This scheme is part of an ongoing framework of works in the area.
Reporting to the visiting Operations Manager, and working closely with the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all site based construction activities, including short-term programming of works, logistics, dealing with consultant design team, health and safety, review of work scopes, method statements, risk assessments, call off of materials, quality control, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against program, issue identification and resolution, etc, snagging and handover.
Work will take place within a live operational environment, requiring careful planning for deliveries, logistics and construction works. It will also involve regular client liaison, liaison with end user, neighbours, etc.

This opportunity is with a busy regional office main contracting group, which has experience and a proven track record in the delivery of small and medium sized new build and refurbishment schemes in the education, local authority, commercial, and industrial sectors in the Berkshire, Hampshire areas.
Requirements including certificates and Qualifications:
You be highly motivated, technically minded and proactive, demonstrating excellent, organisational, man-management, and communication skills.
Proven track record of work for a top twenty main contractor highly desirable.
Ideally from a trade, construction management or engineering background with a sharp eye for detail and quality throughout, you will possess strong planning and problem solving ability, with a positive, 'get it right first time` approach. Ability to perform under pressure essential.
You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role.
