Handyperson - Bracknell - 3 month temp - £12ph |
Our client is looking for a Handyperson to join them on their site in Bracknell. The role will provide efficient and effective support to the contract, ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards and in line with the contract and instructions specified by the FM Manager. Part of the role will be to move multiple cars around their site, so a full UK licence is needed.
Ensuring site equipment and building fabric is efficiently and effectively looked after, reporting defects and malfunctions to the FM Manager.
Attending to and repairing minor building fabric repairs under the guidance of the on-site building fabric technician including but not limited to ceiling repairs, painting, skirting and facing replacement, door servicing and roof inspections.
Carrying out building fabric lifecycle works ie decorating programmes, carpet replacements and other works identified during the lifecycle survey.
Cleaning light fittings and testing lighting systems, replacing where necessary, minor parts such as bulbs, tubes, fuses, starters and diffusers in accordance with safe working practices.
Undertaking weekly and monthly water hygiene testing, ensuring that all tests are carried out correctly and logged in the appropriate log. Highlighting any failures that are found to the FM Manager.
Carrying out minor plumbing repairs under the guidance of the on-site plumber.
Supporting the current on site team with two man jobs.
Clearing blockages from sinks, toilets, drains, kitchen grease traps etc.
Ensuring gullies, drains etc. are kept free from debris.
Undertaking walkabouts of the contract buildings and report Health and Safety issues such as trip hazards and vandalism to the FM Manager
Undertaking handypersons duties as directed by FM Manager.
Monitoring stock levels of consumable items such as fuel, light bulbs/tubes, and arrange to replenish supplies in accordance with current procedures
Escorting, where necessary, Personnel visiting the site (e.g. contractors)
Complying with Health and Safety requirements as well as other relevant legislation and Site rules, carrying out weekly site compliance tests such as EM lighting, Fire Alarm Testing and assisting with evacuation procedures
To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job as per the FM Manager
A positive attitude to work and excellent interpersonal skills
A trade qualification in a building trade (Electrical/plumbing/Plastering/joinery/decorating etc.) would be advantageous
Experience in a busy service environment, with previous experience dealing with building fabric issues
The ability to work on your own and as part of a team
