Aviation Fuelling Piping Design and Projects Engineer|
Salary : Competitive package plus bonuses plus benefits
To produce pre-airfield, depot and hydrant designs for internal and Third Party customers (including JVs), with a main focus on Concept and FEED for pre-airfield and depot, and detailed piping design for hydrants.
This role provides a professional design and project engineering service. The post holder provides technical guidance to Aviation Fuelling Units and Third Parties ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable and compliant designs.
The role requires the incumbent to deliver specific engineering support for the design, construction and commissioning of mechanical systems, aviation fuelling equipment and fixed/mobile storage facilities; in time the incumbent will develop a working knowledge of civil, electrical and control systems knowledge suitable for Front End Engineering Design.
In addition the role requires management of multi-disciplined projects including development of existing and new aviation fuel depot and hydrant facilities.
Another key responsibility of the role is to assist with the creation, development and maintenance of client design standards in accordance with industry practice, group regulations and relevant legislation. The role provides opportunity to develop skills in multiple areas of engineering and project management.
Experience & Expertise (Typical educational qualification & experience)
Degree in relevant engineering related discipline. Chartered Engineer desirable.
Relevant process design and project engineering experience (essential criteria).
Familiarisation with aviation fuel storage, handling and distribution operations; Air engineering standards; industry guidance; and legislation.
Strong knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards and practices (especially in relation to aviation fuels and piping design).
Ability to work with and influence multi-disciplinary teams, including contractors, JV partners, engineering and management contacts.
Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines and objectives.
Be responsible for the upkeep and stewardship of documentation including creation and development of allocated engineering standards.
Ensure technical practices incorporate applicable local standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct engineering compliance assessment visits, recording results and recommendations.
Provide assurance and verification of technical practice compliance
Participate in, contribute to, and/or lead, PHSSERs, HAZOPs, RCAs and MOCs.
Exercising knowledge of other engineering disciplines - knowledge of mechanical (including vehicles), civil, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering is required.
