Our client is a world leader in the provision and integration of cutting-edge technology, primarily specialist vehicles to the Defence and Security sectors. They are now seeking a Facilities Manager for their manufacturing site in South Wales. The client has a strong reputation for offering excellent job satisfaction and career progression.

The Facilities Manager will report directly to the Head of Production & Delivery and will have overall responsibility across the business for developing the new manufacturing facility, transition from existing property and for providing the facilities management service to programmes and functional areas across the site.

Responsibilities include:

To develop and implement a Facilities Strategy for the company to ensure they are positioned to meet the long term demands of the organisation
Implement and provide line management, direction and development to the facilities team to ensure first class service and support is provided to the programmes and functional areas
Project manage all aspects in relation to the development of the manufacturing facility
Management and maintenance of all buildings, machinery and plant across the facilities footprint, including all associated budgets and capital expenditure
Accountable for the management of leases and contracts relating to the facilities to ensure compliance to contract
To be the custodian of the building floor plans and to ensure the appropriate allocation of space to programmes and functions
Management of the transport fleet and services
Ensure all facilities and sites conform to current Health and Safety legislation.

Qualifications & Experience:

Significant facilities management experience at a senior level
Demonstrable experience in project managing new facility development on more than one property
Experience of working in a manufacturing / engineering environment
Significant experience in dealing with both commercial and defence landlords
Ability to work with senior management and external service providers at a senior level
Good communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships with external agencies and contractors
Experience in managing teams remotely
Expert at building and leading teams
Proven track record in influencing and stakeholder management
Strong leadership and decision making skills
Significant knowledge and working capability with Microsoft Office packages.
