LS218 Authorising Engineer

Location: Afghanistan and Iraq

Salary: £800-£1000 day rate 6-10 week contract


An authorizing engineer is required for a 6-10 week contract based in Afghanistan and Iraq. To be suitable for this role you must be eligible to achieve NATO security clearance and have experience working overseas in austere environments. There is a requirement to pass a comprehensive mental and physical assessment. For this role accommodation, meals and flights are provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Routine inspections (6 monthly & annual) across the following 5 disciplines:

o Electrical (HV & LV)

o Petroleum Oils & Lubricants (POL)

o Mechanical Systems

o Confined Spaces

o Working at Height

• Certification & Training of on-site authorised personnel (AP's).

Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of MOD JSP 375.

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience of working as an Authorising Engineer.

• Computer literate in Microsoft Office suite.

• Must be mentally and physically fit and be capable of passing a detailed medical examination.

• Must be capable of obtaining NATO Secret (NS) Security Clearance from their National Security Authority.

• Knowledge of airfield operations and services would be an advantage.

• Be familiar with NATO, ICAO and ISO terminology.

• Experience of working on operations in austere remote sites or in developing nations.

Salary: £800-£1000 day rate 6-10 week contract
