Job Summary
We're seeking an Advocacy & Special Projects Manager to join the Strategy & Growth Group for AECOM's Design and Consulting Services (DCS) Americas business.

DCS Americas is a multi-billion dollar, leading provider of infrastructure services, including Architecture, Engineering and Consulting. The Growth & Strategy Group is responsible for strategy development, market intelligence, special projects and operations in support of the business' growth goals.

The Manager will help advance the agenda of executive leadership by working on special projects relate to geo-political positioning for DCS Americas. This position will report to the Vice President, Strategy & Growth. This position requires the acumen to address complex projects, balance multiple responsibilities, and influence key stakeholders. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious and wants the opportunity to lead high-impact projects to further our strategic ambitions.

  • Plan, manage, and execute enterprise-wide initiatives, specifically related to geo-political strategy for DCS Americas as well as other special projects
  • Manage multi-person teams and develop junior team members
  • Establish well-supported solutions with specific recommendations that enable senior management to make critical decisions
  • Conduct internal and external research and analysis to develop actionable recommendations
  • Assess political implications on DCS Americas' core markets and develop detailed market insights and strategies
  • Drive the development of corporate, business unit and function strategic plans
  • Identify risks to long range strategic plans and develop mitigation strategies
  • Provide strategic input into mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships and divestitures
  • Build credible subject matter expertise and personal brand across enterprise
  • Present to and influence senior leadership

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8 years of work experience in politics, public policy development, or related industries at the state and/or national level
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, leadership, and communications skills
  • Expertise in research and analysis, strategic planning, financial analysis, and project management
  • Proven ability to think out of the box and challenge the status quo
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with drive to take on a leadership role and the accountability and responsibility that comes with it

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with political campaign marketing, branding, communications, and fundraising a plus
  • Master's Degree a plus
