About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary
AECOM's Water Business Unit is seeking a Senior Civil Designer for immediate employment in the Greenwood Village, Colorado (Greater Denver Metro Area) office. This is a technical role and will include working with senior designers, engineers and project managers on a variety of projects within Water/Wastewater, Water Resources, Geo/Civil and Mining.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Grading design and earthwork calculations
  • Prepare digital terrain models
  • Prepare civil drawings, site plans, construction plans and design details using Civil3d
  • Understanding of Geospatial coordinate systems
  • Manage deadlines
  • Manage CAD standards
  • Handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Perform analysis and calculations
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines
  • Support geotechnical analysis

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 9 years of relevant design experience within civil infrastructure and civil site design (water, sewer, grading and storm drainage)
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and plan set assembly
  • Must have experience developing alignments, profiles, surface modeling, cross sections, grading design and drainage design
  • Must have experience completing project drawings within scope, budget and schedule
  • Must have experience managing plan sets for large projects
  • Experience managing data references throughout the duration of projects, from preliminary design and alternative analysis to final design and construction
  • Must be proficient in the use of MS Office
  • Qualified applicants will have a strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and prioritize

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter curriculum ArcGIS experience
  • Microstation & Inroads experience
  • Existing surface creation from various methods including LIDAR, survey points and breaklines, and DEMs
  • Experience evaluating surface accuracy and managing file sizes
  • Mining experience
  • Dam design including embankment, drains, spillway, outlet works, and other appurtenant structures
  • Experience with AutoTurn, StormCAD, Navisworks, 3D Studio Max and Infraworks
  • Familiar with horizontal BIM concepts and workflow
