Description and Scope
A channel sales champion with the ability to create and manage Partner campaigns and programs that are appropriately targeted towards their respective customer markets and the HDS solution offerings. Through proactive engagement, education and sales activity, they ensure the achievement of targets based on growth, profitability, and the development of a secure client base for the Partner and HDS.

Job Function
An integral role within the Channel organisation, the Channel Partner Manager will be responsible for;
  • The identification and development of successful relationships with a key Channel Partner for the UK&I business in order to achieve the revenue target set for the partner and region.
  • Enabling our Partner to effectively position and sell the HDS solutions portfolio by proactive engagement, education and communication of the value proposition.
  • Development of an appropriate business plan with the Chief Operating Officer and ensuring continuous review through monthly business forecasting, sales opportunity reviews and on-going progress against target both internally and with the Partner
  • Ensuring that sales opportunities are fully qualified through personal engagement and leveraging relationships with both the Partner and the end customer through new client and prospect visits.
  • Creating and managing high quality marketing campaigns and active social media promotion through appropriate review processes and initiatives such as participation in Trade and Professional events, social media groups and partner initiatives.
  • Driving the eco-system partnerships for maximum potential revenue gain; including alliance partners such as VMware, Brocade and Veritas.
  • Acting as a consultant and solutions expert, attracting interest in HDS solutions and services by combining sales with the delivery of intellectual knowledge.
  • Continuously seeking to improve and build upon knowledge of market trends including environmental and competitive influencing forces.
  • Acting as a Channel Partner advocate, showing empathy with their challenges and issues and creating plans to address their needs.
  • Ability to probe, listen, qualify and resolve concerns or obstacles to a sale in a logical fashion, emphasising the HDS solutions that will deliver maximum benefit.

Candidate Attributes/ Experience

  • B.S. degree in business management or related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written) and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate at all levels of an organization. Strong presentation skills.
  • Clear evidence of end-user and channel sales and management experience.
  • Successful sales career encompassing software, services and solutions.
  • Able to clearly articulate the value of a portfolio of solutions and services.
  • Able to execute effectively against deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Soft skills and ability to bridge internal and external elements to drive specific goals.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a geographically-dispersed organization
