My client is a World leading Construction company.
They are looking to appoint, on a permanent basis, a Project Engineer that specialises in lighting and electrical engineering to work on their established Highways Framework throughout Southern England.
This is a predominantly office based position with occasional site visits and inspections.
You will be working in a small specialist electrical team on a variety of projects to maintain and upgrade the lighting and electrical element s throughout the Southern region.
The team conducts an estimated £2M -£4M of contracts per annum on this framework and the nature of the work varies from motorway, bridge and gantry lighting renewals and upgrades etc.
To assist with lighting projects from Value management through to delivery. Preparing all documentation to support the bid and on to delivery of schemes.
Tasks/Responsibilities as follows:
Carry out investigations, inspections, surveys, studies and draft reports on identified problems and options for solution.
Prepare specifications, schedules and drawings.
Carry out Highway lighting cable designs.
Supervise the work of junior staff within the team and support their personal development.
Liaise with other teams and other senior staff in co-ordination of works.
Liaise with the Police, Local highway Authority, Statutory Undertakers and other bodies as required.
Assist with project administration and control, including monitoring of costs and programme.
Assist with the identification of programme delivery, resources and budgets.
Ensure compliance with the Information Management System.
Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations and Kier CDM procedures.
Comply with Health and Safety in the workplace, as set out in the Kier Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.
Perform other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required.
Typical Skills/Experience as follows:
Appropriate qualification in Electrical Engineering (BTEC / HNC / Degree preferred)
Relevant experience of working within a lighting team
Experience of cable design software
Computer literate with competent ability and knowledge of Microsoft Office, experience in relevant design packages
Able to communicate well, both orally and in writing
