Assistant Quantity Surveyor
£30,000 to £40,000 plus benefits and bonus

We work closely with the Directors of a multidisciplinary consultancy which provides a range of QS and commercial services to both the Building, Infrastructure and Rail sectors in the UK and overseas. Currently its pre & post contract QS businesses are exceptionally busy and growing and this has seen a need arise for new career minded QS's to join the business. This is a business with an acute sense of responsibility to younger developing staff, who invests in its people and wants to see them develop and achieve their career goals. We'd welcome applications from recent graduates as well as those bright young QS's perhaps currently being held back where they are.

Responsibilities will include all or some of

•Budget estimating, Cost planning, Reporting on tenders, Value Engineering, Cost reporting, Agreement of final accounts
•Pricing variations throughout the duration of the contract and providing cost advice.
•Attending site meetings, and providing input and support to major projects
•Preparation and analysis of statistical cost information to monitor trends in the Building Industry and assisting with cost planning future projects
•Administering and providing advice on contracts, typically the JCT and NEC forms of contract


•Degree educated in Quantity Surveying or other relevant qualification.
•Ideally working toward or keen to gain MRICS
•Someone ambitious and enthusiastic who is excited about the prospect about working for a highly respected and long established force in the UK's construction consultancy market
•Excellent communication skills, and a professional client-facing manner.
•An ability to work on your own initiative and to meet deadlines in order to achieve team / business goals
•IT Literate
•Good general commercial awareness.
