About the role

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Application Support Consultant to assist with the ongoing support, management, improvement, development and evaluation of recruitment and payroll based application systems / software for Capita's recruitment hub.

As a consultant, you will take ownership of 1st and 2nd line enquires and issues. You will also manage relationships between the customers, service desk teams and software suppliers. And finally you will be able to work with new and exciting projects, from roll outs, updates, implementing new applications, improvements or additional functionality.

The software and applications you will be supporting on include (in order of precedence): Peoplefluent RMS/VMS, Tempest SAFE, Fieldglass, Red Rabbit, Avature, Dynamics and Lumesse Talentlink.

What you will do:


Contribute to new application projects, delivering into the Project Implementation Design, Technical Design and Build, overseeing 3rd party provider delivery to timescales and specification and management of issues identified for 3rd party supplier.

Release management: Responsible for thorough testing of upgrades, upgrade test scripts, understanding new release functionality and the benefits of this to individual accounts and ensure this is communicated and made available to ensure the business are using the technology to its fullest potential.

Provide 1st line and 2nd line on site telephone & email support for the application software, taking the time to understand each account and their use of their systems so improvements can be recommended to improve the perception and functionality of the system.

Proactively contribute to the technology roadmap of Capita Managed Services, collaborating effectively with others and contributes to a positive team spirit.

Prioritise your own workload and the ability to manage your time and diary effectively, tracking and monitoring all work with time recorded within the CRM solution.

Ensure that issues, system failures and business critical items are escalated promptly and appropriately with suppliers and Capita stakeholders

Manage and liaise with 3rd party suppliers on resolving and escalation of support and project requirements/issues within agreed SLA/KPI's. Minutes should be taken and timescales allocated at each session.

Your experience will include:


A broad appreciation of IT infrastructure and applications, including managing system improvement projects

Experience of working with both Internal/External customers, with the ability to ability to follow set processes and procedures

Strong MS Office Skills

Strong organisational and communication (written and verbal) skills, with exposure to creating and maintaining documentation

Knowledge of any Applicant Tracking system or Vendor Management System, Payroll knowledge/Payroll Applications would be ideal.

SQL knowledge preferred but not essential as training can be provided
