A pioneering Pharmaceutical organisation in Worthing, West Sussex has created a brand new role for a LIMS Specialist, preferably with some knowledge of Labware systems (though experience with other LIMS systems will be considered). A pioneering UK-based Pharmaceutical company specialising in the development and production of injectable and oral dose vaccines and diagnostic kits for people who suffer from allergies. They have developed an innovative approach to adjuvant therapy which will be of particular interest to someone with the ability to apply chemistry principles in a biological environment. There are around 160 employees in Worthing and the company has an excellent reputation for its welcoming atmosphere, staff morale and ongoing development.
As a LIMS & Data Specialist, you will be responsible for leading, organising and managing the LIMS and Data area, which forms part of the QC (Quality Control) group. You will manage the LIMS system, process and present LIMS data, and work towards the upgrade of the software. At present, the company works with Version 5 of Labware and the plan is to upgrade to a more recent version in the next 6 months. You will take a significant role in the project management of this upgrade, both from an IT perspective and in terms of communicating the changes to site-wide teams.
This position will evolve constantly, reflecting the exciting changes within the company`s research and development programmes and the analytical support they offer to manufacturing and supply functions, producing pioneering new drug products. We are therefore looking for an energetic, versatile individual who has a positive attitude to change, coupled with excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will have an educational background in either Chemistry, IT or Mathematics / Statistics, combined with experience of working to an advanced level with a LIMS system. Knowledge of Labware software systems would be a significant advantage but this is not essential. Above all, we are looking for someone with great communication skills, the ability to lead projects (not necessarily with a formal qualification), good statistics knowledge, and a willingness to learn.
