One of the most reputable and successful providers of bioanalysis and storage services to Pharmaceutical organisations running clinical trials. Based in Bishop`s Stortford, the site houses over 50 staff, and is expanding, with state-of-the-art facilities and a growing use of sophisticated and integrated IT systems. The services they offer facilitate the taking, analysing and storing samples taken from patients participating in clinical trial to test new drugs.
The IT Site Lead will be the central IT figure at the Bishops Stortford site. They will be responsible for the creation, modification, management and ultimately transition of processes designed to deliver IT Services to the UK BioServices team. The successful IT Site Lead will be an excellent communicator and will collaborate with business colleagues to understand and document the IT requirements of the site. You will be a central element of the BioServices IT interacting with the Global and Local BioServices team, IT vendors and the external IT department within the parent company. Within such a highly regulated environment it will be your responsibility to ensure the IT Services are compliant with international standards. You will represent the overall support needs for service delivery as an active member of the global IT Team and implement service escalation improvements for support processes and end
used Global support services. You will collaborate as a member of the service delivery team to develop and align IT support processes globally to meet business needs.

We are seeking a client focused individual with a broad range of IT skills, who is adaptable and enthusiastic to take on an exciting new role. You should be capable of managing and undertaking all aspects of the IT Site Lead position in a pressured yet professional setting. You will ideally be degree educated in a computing / computer science / IT discipline however experience is equally as important as academic qualifications.
As the Site Lead and member of the broader external IT team you will be expected to be proficient and qualified in the following areas:
- SQL or Oracle databases.
- UNIX or Windows Server operating environments.
- C# or .Net development tools
- Project Management: PRINCE2 Foundation or PMI equivalent qualification preferred
- ITIL version 3 Foundation qualification preferred
Any knowledge of a pharmaceutical environment including regulatory standards and systems such as LIMS would be advantageous but not essential.
