Job title: Health and Safety Manager|
Location: Washington and Peterlee (Dual Site)

A fast moving, high volume manufacturer are looking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their team. This is a duel role of which you will be based at both the Washingon and Peterlee site. To succeed in this position, you will be proactive, highly organised and possess a proven ability to multi-task.
As the Health and Safety Manager, you will ensure the Company's Health and Safety Policy is implemented consistently whilst monitoring, evaluating and reviewing health and safety policies and practices. Making recommendations and implementing new policies as required you will also advise the Senior Management Team on the implications of current and emerging health, safety and welfare legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating action plans to ensure compliance across the organisation.
You will be expected to support the managers in maintaining safe systems and provide specialist advice, coaching and practical support as well as assisting them to implement health and safety systems and procedures. This will include accident reporting and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) in a consistent and effective manner
Developing and maintaining Risk Assessments & Hazard Summaries, you will also take action to mitigate the impact and likelihood of health and safety risks.
To succeed within this role, you will possess a minimum of five years` experience in a manufacturing environment, and have the ability to conduct risk assessments to a high standard. You will be able to identify hazards, risks and suitable control to minimise risk to a tolerable level and possess the ability to conduct thorough accident and incident investigations to ensure that the root cause is identified and suitable corrective and preventive controls are put in place.
To be considered for this exciting and challenging role, candidates must be NEBOSH qualified with IEMA Certificates and have a working knowledge of:-
- Health and Safety management/OHSAS18001
- Health and Safety legal requirements
- Risk management

This is a permanent position, located in both Washington and Peterlee (duel site role)
