To support the fibre manufacturing process from both an operational and technical standpoint

Process Management
Continuously monitor process performance on a daily basis by detailed analysis of process parameters and operational management decisions
By analysing this performance using appropriate manufacturing improvement techniques (such as statistical ones, RCA's, PFMEA's, 8D's) analyse for
Process loss trends - individual losses should remain the responsibility of the OSL
Customer complaints or concerns
Opportunities to improve rate, yield and uptime
Trends in product parameters
Opportunities to eliminate waste

Work with the OSL's and production manager to turn these analyses into operational improvement activities leading to better optimised Q-Setups and work instructions
Develop and deliver technical training packages based upon both existing and development knowledge
Manage technical improvement projects such as the introduction of new products or the commissioning of new pieces of equipment. This management should include all aspect from operational specification through to training and post-implementation auditing
Maintain manufacturing documentation that describes the latest best practice for fibre operations
Liaise with maintenance and other site function for overhaul planning activities. Work with the OSL's to optimise the operational aspects of start-up and shutdown

The Process Engineer provides continuity of knowledge of the fibre process by working with the OSL's to develop, record and disseminate learning. This will involve assimilating a wide variety of data sources from operational, technical and engineering colleagues and turning this into manufacturing knowledge.
Technical knowledge of the manufacturing processes is vital as is the ability to work with a continuous chemical process. Strong interpersonal skills are key with the emphasis being on finding a practical implementation within the manufacturing teams of technical process knowledge and manufacturing techniques.
