Job Description: Graduate Transport Planner (1 to 2 years experience) - London
RGB Network are currently working and representing with a leading Transport Planning consultancy firm who are seeking to recruit a Assistant Transport Planner to join their ever-growing team based in their London office.
The consultancy is known for its client focused culture. The successful Graduate Transport Planner would need to demonstrate a similar work-ethos, and will be responsible for assisting with the technical delivery of a variety of transport related projects.
Key responsibilities / duties include:
•Providing technical support on a range of transport planning projects, including the preparation of transport assessments and travel plans to support planning applications.
•Undertaking traffic and junction modelling
•Conducting research to support planning and transport projects, including desktop research, policy review work and meetings with stakeholders/partners as appropriate
•Undertaking site visits and surveys and managing sub-contractors as appropriate
•Assisting with the implementation of the Practice`s Quality Management and Environment Management Systems documents for projects.
Capabilities and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a degree / higher level qualification ideally in Transport Planning / Highways Engineering or equivalent.
The ideal Graduate Transport Planner candidate must have/be:
•Excellent report writing skills
•Experience of using TRICs database
•1-2 years work experience in a Transport Planning or related role is essential
•Experience of GIS, MS Access, MS Project and AutoCAD is welcome
•Experience of ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG etc. is also desirable
•An excellent communicator and confident to attend meetings and advise clients and technical team members as appropriate.
•An interest in keeping up to date with developments in transport and planning policy and latest thinking.
•Experience of meeting demanding deadlines
Location: Central London. Salary: £25,000 to £33,000. Negotiable depending on level of experience.
