Product Engineer

We are looking for a dynamic Product Engineer to join an expanding client in Norfolk and develop methods and materials suitable for manufacturing scale up. The individual will have excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes from concept right through to production. Experience of designing sheet metal products is essential for this role.

The role will involve:

• Steer best methods, systems and processes to deliver project goals
• Undertake a full knowledge transfer training programme with company partners and consultants
• Collate and organise project engineering development work carried out to date
• Provide input on IT and data management for Calculation & CAD modelling, drawings & test data
• Embrace and become diligent in Engineering Development Quality Management Systems

The ideal candidate will have good communication and reporting with project team, partners, and sub-contractors/consultants with an "Out of the box concept design development" with very early stage tape and cardboard prototyping

Individuals will be able to identify and develop commercial patent opportunities, work with project partner manufacturers and suppliers to ensure best practice, have a strong focus to ensure manufacturability, safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A "passion" for product development from concept through to production

• Practical and capable of working with hand tools for prototyping and test chamber set-ups

• Self-starter and manager of self with a focus on quality and customer experience

• Must be diligent in following processes and following a task through to conclusion

• A proven background in Product Development, Testing and Problem Solving

• SOLIDWORKS experience ideally with sheet metal manufacture

• An understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

• Must be competent in CAD, MS Office, and ideally Solidworks mechanical design software
