General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Quality Manager to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design, develop and manage a variety of equipment and systems solutions for General Dynamics Mission Systems and its clients.   • Lead & coordinate the activities of the Mission Assurance organization in Pittsfield. Activities include Program Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Internal Auditing, Manufacturing Quality, and Independent Testing of Software (IV&V)
    • Ensure all T9001B and Common Process quality requirements are understood and properly executed for SSP Programs
    • Mange the quality requirements of all Programs in Pittsfield to assure quality requirements are met for all product
    • Review and approve all Quality Plans for assigned programs
    • Budget and Staffing: Provide quality system content and cost/schedule inputs to cost and technical proposals
    • Develop and manage budget and staffing levels to achieve business objectives
    • Engage with the customer as necessary to have a robust customer connection and communicate the message of quality
    • Manage employee performance, develop individual training plans, and develop personnel to ensure that the business has the critical skills to meet our commitments
    • Work with Program Managers, Technical Managers, lead personnel, and others to develop action plans, lead RCA's, communicate quality metrics, and apply statistical control and other improvement techniques (such as Six Sigma) to achieve improved results
    • Champion and support business initiatives and objectives such as security, safety, ethics, education, career development, community service and workforce diversity

Basic Qualifications:

The Senior Quality Manager position requires a master's degree in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline or the equivalent technical discipline with a minimum 6 years of experience or a bachelor's degree in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline or the equivalent technical discipline with a minimum of 8 years of experience.

Basic Requirements

•Six Sigma Black/Green Belt

•Strategic and business planning, budget planning and control, staffing to meet project demands in a constantly changing environment

•Experience in industry and customer T9001B Quality Management Systems including ISO 9001 and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)

•Ability to interact with internal and external personnel at all levels on quality matters often requiring coordination between organizations

•Strong team player, effective listener, ability to foster open communications and team environment, works well with minimal supervision

•Demonstrated ownership and ability to meet commitments on time

•Demonstrated change agent

•Effective, written, oral and presentation communications skills

•Must be willing to travel 10%-20% of the time

•Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required
