We specialise in providing sustainable development solutions from planning, through to full implementation. We are seeking to recruit a technician to join the traffic signals team to assist with an increase in workload.

Traffic Signal experience

The Job
Core Functions:
Your principal role will be as a transport technician undertaking junction assessments (priority,
roundabout and traffic signals) and design as well as the specifications for traffic signal projects
supporting an existing team of engineer’s. Your involvement would be at all stages of design through
to implementation. You can expect to be active on a number of projects at any given time, reporting to
a Principle Engineer. Your role will include maintenance operations, which includes responding to
signal fault callouts as well as undertake testing of equipment with the aim of checking compliance to
standard. This role will entail both site and office based work.
Although predominantly working on traffic signals schemes you should be able to work on other
junction forms and highway link designs as well as traffic assessments at various stages of their
design life.
We are seeking an individual who is generally technically competent and enthusiastic to expand their
experience in this field of design, ideally with skills in the following areas:
• Production of AutoCAD Designs and CorelDraw drawings/graphics;
• Preparation of concept junction designs, to DMRB;
• Capacity analysis of junctions, using ARCADY, PICADY and LinSig;
• Working as a member of a team;
• Contributing to providing solutions to problems;
• Working both in an office environment and visiting sites;
• Meeting agreed deadlines;
• Maintaining accurate project correspondence.
Skill Strengths and Attributes
You will produce engineering drawings / graphics complying with company set procedures. You will
be responsible for the collation and presentation of information used to support the delivery of
transport reports and technical notes. You will also be involved in capacity analysis of existing and
proposed junctions, masterplan reviews and appraisals as well as general project quality
The roll would suit someone with a technical background able to use Corel Draw, AutoCAD, Excel
and Word. Although knowledge of traffic signal, priority and roundabout design would be an
advantage the roll would suit anyone with a technical / design background and an enthusiasm to
expand their knowledge in this specialist area.
You may be required to work overtime occasionally to meet deadlines or if assisting with site / field
