Position Overview
The Biztalk Application Developer will implement any changes required to the Biztalk platform. They will be responsible for maintenance of the bespoke"core applications technical configuration and being involved in the solution design to meet business specified requirements. They will work with the Business Analysts to convert a functional specification into a technical specification and solution design documentation that can be used for testing and then the development of the solution. The Developer will provide support to the Business for bug fixes and 3 rd line Technical Support when 1 st and 2 nd Line Support functions require it; this will include knowledge transfer to the support function. They will work with the rest of the development team to understand any further developments once the product has gone live.
The role will initially report into and work with the TOM programme, and will be required to work with the TOM operating framework. Post the delivery of the TOM programme the role will report into Business Change and Architecture functions.

  • Support the implementation of Biztalk 2013
  • Working with the Enterprise Architects to design interfaces to / from existing, legacy and new applications
  • Making Changes or Creating a bespoke IT Solution (interface\program) that meets the Specified Business Requirements using the Biztalk Development Tools
  • Working with the Application Tester to produce a Technical Specification that can be used for testing
  • Unit Testing of Development\Configuration Changes
  • To write, test, comment and Debug changes
  • Adhere to Version Control Management
  • Adhere to Development Procedures and Documentation
  • To Inform the Manager of any issues that arise during development so the appropriate action can be taken
  • Provide Post Implementation Support as a 3 rd Line function and the transition into support process
  • To be active in Solution Design to meet the Customer Requirements Brief.
  • Define and adhere security standards aligned to policy and strategy
  • To ensure relationships with 3 rd parties (internal or external) are developed to achieve high levels of operational availability

What we are looking for
  • Experience in Solution Design and implementation
  • Experience Debugging, Changing and Creating bespoke solution (Interfaces\Programs)
  • Understanding of Development Standards and Why they are required
  • Experience in Developing Technical Specifications\Solution design documentation
  • Recent experience with BizTalk 2010 and ideally 2013
  • 5 years of full development lifecycle with BizTalk
  • Experience with Orchestrations, Mapping, BAM, custom adapters
  • 7 years of C# developments
  • BizTalk XSLT Experience
  • Experience working with and configuring BAM
  • Experience on BizTalk setup
  • Experience in debugging and troubleshooting
  • Experience with mentoring and knowledge sharing
  • Comfortable with being the lead Subject Matter Expert on Biztalk for the business
  • Excellent Personnel Management and communication skills
  • Solution Design Experience
  • To be able to Manage Customer Expectations
  • Be able to act quickly and make decisions when required
  • To be able to be flexible when required and work within a changing environment
